Radio Travel Personality John Clayton Joins Traveling Boy

Burbank October 29, 2010

TravelingBoy.com announced that longtime radio personality John Clayton has just joined the website as a regular contributor.

From 1992 to the summer of 2007, John was on three top LA radio stations (KABC, KKGO/KMZT and KNX) with his series of travel features under the banner of "John Clayton&39;s Travel With A Difference." Speaking of John joining T-Boy, Ed Boitano, chief executive and one of the co-founders of the website, said "John&39;s full-time presence has electrified T-Boy, taking the site to a whole new level. It&39;s amazing how his offbeat and unique blogs are a perfect fit for T-Boy&39;s philosophy. I guess it was a match made in heaven."

In addition to his radio work and travel to some 51 countries around the world, Clayton also spent time as a PR executive including Continental Airlines; Western Cruise Lines and DJ Edelman PR. "It is because of this background," said Boitano, "that we have asked John to also be the PR spokesman for our website. Due to his impressive resume in public relations, John has already introduced the site to countless new viewers, who were previously unaware of Traveling Boy."

Clayton said he was delighted to be given these "wonderful opportunities," and noted that the Traveling Boy philosophy mirrored his own view of how to make traveling (in the written and spoken word) "that much more intriguing." He said his radio show&39;s concept was exactly like that of Traveling Boy - that is, unique, really interesting news and information that you probably won&39;t find in guidebooks. "That&39;s why I love the tag line of T-Boy, &39;Discovering Roads Less Traveled,&39;"he said.

Boitano commented that one of the benefits on having John on board was that his features could now be enjoyed for a much longer time than just the two minutes he had on KNX and KKGO.

Speaking of features, here are some of our favorite Mr. Clayton blogs:

1) Was THIS the Loch Ness Monster (http://travelingboy.com/archive-travel-john-lochness.html)
2) The Famous German Airship the Hindenburg (http://travelingboy.com/archive-travel-john-hindenberg.html )
3) Colorful, Captivating, Charming China! (http://travelingboy.com/archive-travel-john-china.html)
4) Chewton Glen - England&39;s Luxury Resort (http://travelingboy.com/archive-travel-john-chewtonglen.html )
5) A Most Unusual Tourist Attraction (http://www.travelingboy.com/archive-travel-john-michaelwittman.html)

The concept of Traveling Boy is best expressed in its Mission Statement that notes "our approach to travel is a personal and very subjective way of writing about destinations and travel themes. To do this," says Boitano, "we have dozens of talented journalists and photographers who give their own unique perspective on things, people and places around the world. And now John Clayton is a regular contributor. That&39;s why we call Traveling Boy &39;Discovering Roads Less Traveled.&39;"
