British Airways to open new routes to London City Airport

London City Airport is located in the heart of London, only about 20 minutes from the City and the new Canary Wharf business district. Especially bankers and business people will find British Airways new routes attractive, but it will also give leisure travellers more options when travelling to this exciting metropolis.

New aircraft, new routes
Peter Rasmussen, Regional Commercial Manager, Northern Europe says: “This has been a year of firsts for us at London City Airport, with the first regular flights by the new Embraer 190 aircraft and now our first ever venture into Scandinavia. Once again we are responding to demand from our customers for both business and leisure travel between Denmark and the centre of London. We are delighted to be launching another exciting new route using our new aircraft

Attractive service for business people and bankers
“London City Airport is located in the London Docklands, very close to the City. British Airways new routes will make it easier and more attractive to travel between the two capital cities and it will especially be an advantage for the many business people and bankers. At the same time, the increased capacity from British Airways new routes will help strengthen Copenhagen Airport’s position and its already extensive route network. Over time, this will make a positive contribution to the Danish business sector and the Danish economy said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales at Copenhagen Airport A/S.

British Airways will launch two daily flights on weekdays from Copenhagen Airport to London City Airport located in the heart of London. Moreover, there will be a flight from Copenhagen on Saturdays and one from London City Airport on Sundays. The company will use brand new Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft seating 76 and 98 passengers, respectively. The flying time to London City Airport is about two hours.

When British Airways launches its service to London City Airport on 12 September, Copenhagen Airport will have a total of 23 daily services to London.
