easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, has announced new flights from London Gatwick in 2011 to to the Turkish resort of Izmir
Flights go on sale cheap tickets from £43.99 / £75.98 (one way, including taxes) and the routes will begin operating from March 2011. These new London routes will enable easyJet passengers, flying from London Gatwick, to choose from a staggering 92 different destinations.
Izmir has long been popular with overseas property buyers anyway, because it offers low property prices, glorious Mediterranean coastline and gorgeous climate including 300 days of sunshine per year, in short: sun, sea and sand in abundance. Izmir is unique in the fact that the harbour is at the back of a secluded bay, which gives incredible shelter on the beaches.
The airline has also confirmed that it is increasing its fleet of aircraft at London Gatwick to 46 from Summer 2011. Passengers will benefit from increased flights to Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, Dusseldorf in Germany, Porto in Portugal and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The new routes coupled with the increased aircraft fleet will enable the airline to carry an additional 680,000 passengers to and from Gatwick per year.
